Terms of Service

Last updated: June 3, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Hash Camera mobile application, website, and related server services. By using Hash Camera, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the service.

2. Service Description

Hash Camera provides timestamp-enhanced photo capture, server evidence record creation, QR code generation, QR code verification, local history, and related account features. The service is intended to assist users in recording and later comparing photo evidence metadata.

3. No Legal, Forensic, or Commercial Guarantee

Hash Camera is not a notary service, legal service, forensic analysis service, insurance claim decision service, marketplace guarantee, escrow service, or law enforcement service. Verification results indicate whether a Hash Camera server record can be found and compared with related metadata and server-stored content. Verification results do not prove that a photo is authentic, lawful, admissible in court, accepted by an insurer, accepted by a marketplace, or sufficient for any dispute.

You are responsible for preserving original evidence, maintaining independent records, and consulting qualified professionals when legal, insurance, commercial, or safety decisions are involved.

4. Accounts and Authentication

Certain features require a Hash Camera account or authenticated session. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account, email address, device, and authentication credentials. You must not use another person's account or attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, upload limits, retention limits, or security controls.

5. User Content and Responsibility

You are solely responsible for photos, metadata, QR codes, claims, and other information that you create, upload, store, share, or rely on through Hash Camera. You represent that you have all rights, permissions, and legal authority necessary to capture, upload, store, and use the content you submit.

You must not upload or use Hash Camera to process content that is illegal, harmful, infringing, privacy-violating, deceptive, abusive, or otherwise prohibited by these Terms.

6. Prohibited Conduct and Content

You must not use Hash Camera to create, upload, verify, distribute, support, or preserve content or activity involving copyright or trademark infringement, secretly recorded or non-consensual imagery, privacy violations, violent or graphic content, child safety risks, sexual exploitation, fraud, forged evidence, impersonation, scams, harassment, unlawful surveillance, illegal activity, malware, attempts to overload the service, attempts to falsify Hash Camera records, or other abusive use.

You must not attempt to forge QR codes, signatures, timestamps, blockchain anchor information, server evidence records, account status, membership status, or verification results. You must not misrepresent Hash Camera verification as legal certification, notarization, forensic proof, insurance approval, or marketplace approval.

7. Complaint Deletion

When a Hash Camera evidence record is verified in the app, the verification result screen may provide a complaint button. When the complaint button is confirmed, Hash Camera deletes the server-stored evidence photo and related server record immediately, without manual review. After deletion, the evidence ID and QR code may no longer be verifiable through Hash Camera.

Complaint deletion affects only server-stored evidence and related server records. It does not delete any photo from a user's device photo library and does not reverse monthly upload usage.

8. Moderation, Removal, and Account Restrictions

Hash Camera may review safety reports, investigate misuse, remove server-stored evidence records, restrict verification, suspend sessions, block accounts, or take other protective measures at any time if we determine or reasonably suspect that content or conduct violates these Terms, infringes rights, endangers safety, compromises privacy, creates legal risk, imposes excessive operational burden, or otherwise harms the service or its users.

Hash Camera may remove server-stored photos and related server records without prior notice if the content is found or reasonably suspected to involve infringement, secretly recorded or non-consensual imagery, privacy violations, violent or graphic content, child safety risks, sexual exploitation, fraud, forged evidence, impersonation, scams, illegal activity, or other abusive use. This removal does not delete photos from a user's own device photo library.

9. Deletion by Users

You may delete server-stored evidence records from the app history detail screen. You may delete your account from the app Settings screen. Account deletion removes the account, active sessions, server-stored evidence photos, related server records, and monthly usage records from Hash Camera servers. User deletion does not delete photos already saved to a device photo library and does not reverse monthly upload usage.

10. Plans, Upload Limits, and Retention

Upload limits, storage limits, and retention periods may depend on the applicable plan. Current plan descriptions may appear in the app, App Store listing, or other published materials. Hash Camera may refuse uploads, shorten access, or restrict features when limits are reached, when a plan expires, when payment fails, or when required purchase verification is unavailable.

After the applicable retention period expires, Hash Camera may automatically delete the server-stored evidence photo and related server record through server-side scheduled cleanup. This cleanup does not delete photos saved to a user's device photo library.

If paid plans are enabled through Apple in-app purchase, Apple payment terms and App Store rules also apply. Refunds, billing, and subscription management may be handled by Apple according to Apple's policies.

11. Availability and Changes

Hash Camera aims to provide reliable service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent availability. Network issues, maintenance, security incidents, third-party service failures, abuse prevention measures, storage limits, legal obligations, or operational constraints may affect access to the app, server records, QR verification, or evidence images.

Hash Camera may modify, suspend, discontinue, or restrict any feature of the service, subject to applicable law and published plan terms.

12. Third-Party Services

Hash Camera relies on third-party infrastructure and services, including hosting, storage, database, email delivery, Apple authentication, Apple in-app purchase, and blockchain data sources. Hash Camera is not responsible for third-party outages, errors, policy changes, or data returned by third-party services.

13. Intellectual Property

Hash Camera, its software, website, interface, trademarks, and service design are owned by Hash Camera or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership of Hash Camera intellectual property to you. You retain your rights in content you lawfully create, subject to the rights you grant Hash Camera to operate the service.

You grant Hash Camera a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, transmit, display, verify, delete, and otherwise use your submitted content and metadata solely as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, and enforce the service.

14. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hash Camera is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Hash Camera disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and evidentiary sufficiency.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hash Camera shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, evidence value, business opportunities, reputation, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the service or these Terms.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

16. Termination

You may stop using Hash Camera at any time and may delete your account through the app. Hash Camera may suspend or terminate access to the service if you violate these Terms, create risk for Hash Camera or others, or if continued service is no longer commercially, legally, or technically feasible.

17. Changes to These Terms

Hash Camera may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of Hash Camera after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
